Originally built in 1887 the structure has now been turned into a housing complex with 39 new apartments spread across various levels by Oscar Properties.
Located in the in Aspen this condo is mainly used as a rental property and was in need of an urgent makeover to transform it from a dark dreary space into a beautiful setting. It was Anne Grice Interiors who took up the challenge and gave the lovely little condo a sparkling new ambiance.
Sensible choices in terms of furniture and accessories helped in providing a beautiful bridge between the classic and the contemporary. Even though that backdrop of each room is kept neutral bright blues lovely yellows and refreshing greens create a lively elegant home.
The cabin still stands proudly on the island today with a small stone wall around it and while the 97-year-old designer has cut back on summer visits to the retreat his family still values it incredibly! With majestic cathedral ceilings a large glass wall that brings the outdoors inside and warm wooden surfaces the cabin was inspired by Risom’s early life in Denmark and its idyllic summer homes.
The mood of the airy and modern living room swerves in a slightly different direction as the floorplan moves into the more traditional study. Lined with bookshelves the cozy space can be closed off with heavy curtains to become a private performance area. A small nook serves as a contemplative desk area to compose music and french doors reveal a small balcony for when a break is needed.
